Croton Falls Firefighters Leave Parade To Battle Blaze

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The Croton Falls Fire Department pulled double duty Wednesday night in an unexpected fashion.

While in Brewster for the local fire department parade, word came of a fire at a horse farm on Hardscrabble Road.

Chief Jason Blauvelt was able to get the group redirected and take out the fire before any major structural damage occurred.

It was even more impressive, when according to the department's Martin Aronchick, most members of the department were wearing their dress uniforms underneath their gear.
